Job Summary The Die Designer will perform skilled tasks utilizing computer software necessary to the quality completion of tooling process and die designs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for demonstrating their industry knowledge to produce precision based die designs to customer standards and specifications. This individual will also be expected to understand and communicate technical Tool & Die information effectively and have a minimum of 5 years experience in progressive die design. Responsibilities (examples of work performed) Utilize software tools such as Siemens UG-NX (Primary) and Catia to create detailed designs and alter existing ones. Demonstrate die requirements from strip layouts and customer requirements Determine station sequence, pitch, shear breakage, carrier concepts, stock width and material utilizations Determine and incorporate proper clearances, shut heights, die timing, press stroke requirements, feed height and die lift Select standard items based upon applications, create BOMs, assign attributes and create/assign assembly trees as needed Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs align with project requirements and specifications. Assist with design finalization, buyoff packages information organization Participate in design review meetings with the customer and perform necessary adjustments based upon feedback. Create or edit 2D technical prints for shop use Demonstrate very strong attention to detail and revision control practicies Make basic use of Microsoft Office programs to communicate design information. Continuously review all aspects of the job for improvements Maintain organized records of self design projects, including revisions and updates. BASIC Requirements (if not met, applicants need not apply) Minimum 5 years of Die Design experience Proficiency in design software including Siemens UG-NX (Preferred) or Catia Strong understanding of die design and its application Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Firm understanding of drafting, designing principals and industry standards. Preferred Skills Experience with progressive die design for OEMs (Ford, Stellantis, General Motors) Compensation Pay is determined by relevant experience
