Job Description

Position :
Tool & Die Support Department :
Die Shop Reports to :
Die Shop Manager Shift :
Monday
  • Friday, 6:00am
  • 4:30pm, Saturdays as necessary.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
None The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in metalworking and machining, with a focus on repairing and maintaining hammer and press forging dies. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities throughout the day. Duties /
Responsibilities :
Review and determine the status of forging and support dies. Evaluate dies to determine the best course of action for repair (benching, welding, machining). Prepare dies and support tooling for forging operations based on production schedules: Review dispatch list daily to determine tooling needs. Retrieval and delivery of dies using fork lift. Stamping identification in the dies based on blueprint requirements. Using various hand tools (die grinders, taps, wrenches, etc.), to repair and assemble tooling assemblies. Answer radio calls to the forging departments to troubleshoot and repair tooling as quickly and efficiently as possible Must be able to pivot frequently, may receive multiple calls throughout the day. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Function s:
Troubleshoot and repair forging, trimming and coining dies. Constant use of hand tools such as air grinders, wrenches, hammers, etc.
Education Requirements :
High School/GED required; technical degree desired.
Experience Requirements :
Extensive experience using manual and powered hand tools required. 2 or more years working in a heavy manufacturing environment preferred.
Skill Requirements :
Working command of the English language, strong communication skills. Must be able to use simple math calculations and use basic hand-held measuring tools. Previous hi-lo experience a plus. Must be a forward thinker and a team player.
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to stand 100% of the time. Job involves twisting, turning, reaching, bending, climbing, pulling, pushing, holding arms at shoulder height for an extended period of time. Must be able to lift up-to 25lbs approximately 15 times during the day. Must be able to lift 5-10lbs at least 40 times a day.

HSA Note:
If an employee opts out of their medical coverage with Trenton Forging Company, the Company will pay the employee $70 weekly

Dental, Vision and Accident Insurance plans through Guardian are also available at negligible costs to the employee. If the employee selects one of the HSA medical plans above, they are automatically enrolled in a Health Savings Account (HSA). The Company makes $500 annual contributions for employees who choose single-person medical coverage and $1000 annual contributions for coverage of 2 or more persons. Life Insurance Our forging company automatically pays for a $15,000 life insurance policy for each employee. Additional life insurance may be purchased by the employee, up to $150,000 in employee coverage, $50,000 in spousal coverage, and $10,000 coverage per child. 401(k) On the first month after 60 days of employment, all employees are eligible to participate in our 401(k) plan with Merrill Lynch. In profitable years, the Company may match employee contributions with discretionary bonuses to all employees currently participating in our 401(k) plan. Tuition Reimbursement
