Pay Range:

$35-45/hr

Location:

Mankato, MN Key Responsibilities Perform hands-on repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of compound, progressive, and form tooling Work directly with production staff to identify and resolve tooling-related issues Support punch press operations (60-ton to 400-ton range) by ensuring tooling is properly maintained and ready for use Diagnose root causes of tooling wear, failure, and production inefficiencies Assist in tool changeovers, setups, and adjustments as needed Communicate tooling issues and improvement opportunities back to the design and engineering team Maintain tooling inventory, repair records, and maintenance schedules Help implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend tool life Support continuous improvement efforts related to tooling performance and production efficiency Assist in training operators on proper tool handling and basic troubleshooting Qualifications Hands-on experience with tool and die repair and maintenance in a stamping or punch press environment Strong understanding of: Progressive, compound, and form tooling Punch press operations and production workflows Mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair tooling issues Ability to work closely with operators and production leadership in a fast-paced environment Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Good communication and organizational skills Work Environment & Growth Opportunities High-mix, low-volume production environment with a wide variety of tooling applications Close collaboration with: Tool & Die Design Engineer Senior Punch Press Manager Production teams and plant leadership Opportunity to expand into advanced tooling, process improvement, and engineering roles Hands-on involvement in improving tooling reliability and production performance
