Education Requirements Completion of a formal Tool and Die apprenticeship or a company-approved five-year Tool and Die training program Journey-level Machinist training may be considered with additional Tool and Die experience Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications Experience Requirements Minimum 3-5 years of surface grinder experience in a Tool and Die or mold-making environment Experience maintaining, repairing, rebuilding, and troubleshooting progressive dies, tooling, molds, fixtures, and related components Proven ability to grind carbide and tool steel to extremely tight tolerances (±.0001″) Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment Background in die and mold shop operations required Preferred Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced troubleshooting skills Knowledge of metal stamping, tool maintenance, and manufacturing processes Ability to identify process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards Effective communication and teamwork skills Physical Capabilities High level of manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift Ability to safely operate grinders, hand tools, and machining equipment Capable of lifting, moving, and handling tooling components as required Ability to work in a manufacturing and machine shop environment Job Duties Maintain, repair, modify, and fabricate tooling, dies, fixtures, jigs, and replacement components Troubleshoot tooling issues and perform unscheduled maintenance to minimize downtime Inspect tools, components, and finished work to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards Set up, test, diagnose, and adjust dies to optimize performance and product quality Operate surface grinders and precision equipment to machine parts to exact tolerances Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and engineering drawings Document tooling repairs, maintenance activities, and labor hours accurately Update tooling prints and records with design modifications and redline changes Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Collaborate with engineering, production, and management teams to improve tooling performance and manufacturing efficiencyBenefits:
