Die Repair Technician 1st shift : 6:00 - 4:30
M-F Pay Rate DOE:
$32.00- $45.00

Job Summary:
Troubleshoots and repairs tools, dies, and fixtures on progressive dies and stamping presses. Responsible and accountable for the timely and appropriate repair of tools, fixtures, and dies. Detailed Responsibilities Maintains 90% or better first-time set-up of dies without production problems, production run rate of 90%, and capacity at 50%. Performs preventive maintenance and maintains 95% production readiness of dies, fixtures and tools, performing complete checks of dies after production runs. Fills out job cards and die history folders completely with all required data. May assist machinists and millwrights in press overhaul. Reads and interprets blueprints, or from the part to be copied or fitted. Performs manual operations involved in repairing fixtures, tools and dies using tools of the trade. Fits and assembles fixtures, tools, and dies. Sets up, runs off and tests dies to produce a product to specifications, tracing die difficulties to their source and correcting same. Performs other duties as required by the supervisor. Responsible for knowing and following OSHA, Ohio EPA, company and department safety rules and safety procedures.
Essential Skills and Experience :
Three years of reading blueprints and using precision measuring devices Class A machinist skill level including mills, drills, lathes, and grinders Knowledge of flat and form grinding and shimming and grinding; re-timing of dies; able to check proper clearance (forming and cutting) Understands Quality Management Assurance policy and maintains product quality; reports nonconforming product to QA and/or supervisor for corrective action Knowledge of fabrication of forms and sections; some metallurgy knowledge Knowledge of TIG welding, using cutting torches, and heat-treating of tool steel Able to conduct first-piece set-up inspection and troubleshoot production problems Shop math or equivalent training Ability to lift up to 80 pounds Ability to understand safety training and follow safety procedures Other duties as required by supervision or management Use of fork lift for the delivery of die to the working area
