Job Description

Description Responsible for creating needed replacement parts for various machines throughout the plant from drawings, sketches, or verbal descriptions. Key Responsibilities Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements per the Franklin Electric Quality System. Report problems with quality, process, equipment, and materials to Production Supervisor. Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions. Supports the manufacturing process by assisting in repair of equipment. Teams up with other maintenance staff and engineers to find out the part that needs to be created. Utilizes various machines to create the required part as determined. Follows blueprints if available to create required parts. Participates in improvement events and recommends improvements to existing processes. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities Skills Knowledge and Expertise Hands-on experience with tool and die equipment. Works with various CNC and/or manual, cutting and grinding machines, and hand tools. Must be able to read and understand blueprints with knowledge of basic GD&T. Works with CAD software. AutoCad or Draftsite knowledge preferred. Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Utilizes common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions. Provides accurate work on a consistent basis meeting precise tolerances and standards. Interpersonal skills sufficient to work closely with others on a team. Ability to demonstrate flexibility in work environment performing a variety of frequently changing tasks. Ability to work alone effectively under stress and in situations dangerous to self or others. Completes some moderately repetitive tasks. Education and Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent (required). Completion of trade school or equivalent completing certificate in maintenance (preferred) One (1) year or more of experience working as a tool and die specialist. (required) May substitute education for experience. Computer Skills MS Office Ability to load CAD drawing files into CNC machines.
