Job Description

Sets up and operates conventional sinker EDM equipment to manufacture precision tooling components according to drawings, specifications, and dimensional requirements. Job Requirements High school diploma or GED. 5 years of experience in EDM, machining, tool and die, or a similar manufacturing environment. Experience operating conventional/sinker EDM equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and CAD/CAM documentation. Knowledge of metalworking and machining processes. Ability to compute and verify dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances. Experience using micrometers, comparators, dial indicators, gauge blocks, and other precision measuring equipment. Ability to use common machining and hand tools. Mathematical skills applicable to precision machining and dimensional inspection. Ability to lift or push 50-250 pounds with assistance. Preferred Skills Experience setting up conventional/sinker EDM machines. Experience programming EDM equipment. Experience operating multiple EDM machines. Experience with additional machining equipment and manufacturing processes. Coursework or training in blueprint reading, metalworking, drafting, machining, or tool and die manufacturing. Job Responsibilities Set up and operate conventional/sinker EDM equipment for production of tooling components. Manufacture components from blueprints, sketches, CAD files, and CAM files. Perform EDM machine setup, electrode positioning, workholding, and machining operations. Perform routine equipment maintenance required for daily operation. Operate multiple EDM machines as production requirements dictate. Plan machine workload to maximize unattended machining operations. Measure, inspect, and test completed components for dimensional and specification compliance. Verify component dimensions, tolerances, sizes, and shapes using precision measuring instruments. Record labor time and production information for assigned jobs. Route completed components to die assembly, shipping, or subsequent manufacturing operations. Support additional manufacturing processes and operate equipment in other production areas as required. Inspect equipment and work areas for operational or safety-related issues.
