Job Description
. Overview Help keep Webco's precision tooling at its best for producing top-quality carbon steel tubing. This role combines hands-on machining, maintenance, and setup of tooling parts with high attention to detail and a commitment to safety. You'll work with lathes, grinders, polishers, and precision measuring tools to meet tight tolerances that keep our production running smoothly. What You'll Do Inspect, clean, repair, and set up tooling for weld mill equipment Operate lathes, grinders, polishers, and other metal-forming equipment Use micrometers, calipers, and other tools to verify tight tolerances Perform daily equipment checks and maintain accurate tooling inventory Safely move tooling (up to 400 lbs) using tow motors and cranes Read blueprints and apply machining knowledge to meet exact specs Troubleshoot and solve problems independently in a fast-paced setting Collaborate with production teams to meet tooling needs and resolve issues Physical & Work Environment Stand and walk for 12-hour shifts (up to 2 miles/day) on a concrete floor Lift up to 50 lbs regularly; work in temperatures from 90-100°F in summer and cold in winter Exposure to loud machinery and occasional dust, lubricants, and cleaning chemicals PPE provided and required (hearing/eye protection, steel-toed shoes, gloves) Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machining or tool & die preferred Experience as a machinist or tool & die maker in a repair or production environment Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools accurately Strong mechanical skills, problem-solving ability, and teamwork mindset Schedule 12-hour shifts (day or night), with schedule based on business needs.
