Do you have basic building skills? Want a unique and satisfying way to care for the Appalachian Trail? The Blue Mountain Eagle Climbing Club (BMECC) is seeking a Shelters Chair that would be responsible for the five shelters on their section of the A.T. in eastern Pennsylvania. BMECC maintains a 65-mile section of the A.T. and its associated shelters, springs, and side trails between Pennsylvania's Lehigh and Susquehanna Rivers. The Shelters Chair position requires basic building skills and involves working with Shelter Maintainers to assess maintenance needs and leading teams to do needed work on shelters and privies . Training and guidance will be provided. The position to be filled runs through March 2027. If interested, a new two-year term is a possibility. More details can be provided if interested.
