Precision Machinist and Tooling Specialist

About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Precision Machinist and Tooling Specialist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will leverage your extensive expertise in machining and tool maintenance to ensure our production processes consistently meet rigorous quality standards and operational goals. Responsibilities Diagnose, adjust, and modify complex tooling and machinery to optimize production efficiency and maintain high-precision output. Validate and interpret technical blueprints to ensure all tooling meets exact design specifications. Operate a diverse range of manual and CNC equipment, including lathes, mills, and surface grinders, to fabricate and repair critical components. Perform detailed quality inspections using advanced measurement tools to ensure parts adhere to strict tolerance requirements. Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot process bottlenecks and implement effective tooling solutions. Maintain a safe and organized workspace, adhering to all established safety protocols and operational guidelines. Qualifications Required Skills High school diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in tool and die making or precision machining. Expertise in operating manual and CNC lathes, mills, and surface grinders to close tolerances. Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints in both English and metric units. Strong command of precision measurement instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges. Physical ability to perform tasks such as standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Preferred Skills Advanced experience with 3-5 axis CNC machining centers such as Mazak or Haas. Technical proficiency in jig boring and ID grinding operations. Demonstrated ability to apply shop math to solve complex manufacturing challenges. Experience with horizontal machining centers and multi-axis programming.
