Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Injection Molding Tool and Die Maker to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for designing, fabricating, repairing, and maintaining precision molds and dies used in plastics injection molding processes. Your expertise will ensure the production of high-quality molded components, supporting our commitment to excellence and efficiency. Duties Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD to develop detailed tool designs. Set up and operate CNC machining centers including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment to produce precise tooling components. Program CNC machines utilizing CAM programming techniques to optimize machining processes and ensure accuracy. Fabricate, assemble, and modify injection molds and dies with manual machining tools such as grinders, calipers, micrometers, and hand tools. Conduct precision measurements during manufacturing using micrometers, calipers, and other measurement instruments to verify tolerances meet specifications. Perform routine maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of tooling equipment to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance. Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret design changes and implement modifications efficiently while adhering to GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards. Ensure all tooling fabrication complies with safety standards, quality control procedures, and manufacturing best practices. Skills Proficiency in CAD software including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and other design tools for tool design and modification. Strong experience with CNC programming for milling machines, lathes, EDM machines, and other machining centers. Knowledge of plastics injection molding processes along with experience in tooling fabrication specific to this industry. Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and schematics accurately using GD&T principles. Skilled in manual machining techniques such as grinding, milling, turning on lathe machines, welding, and fabrication. Familiarity with shop math essential for precise measurement calculations and tool setup adjustments. Experience with maintenance operations related to MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) of tooling equipment. Understanding of electrical schematics relevant to machine operation and troubleshooting. Ability to use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and gauges for quality control inspections. Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience in metal machining, stamping press operations, and tool & die fabrication.
