Job Description
Job Description The Senior Tool and Die Technician is a crucial member of Boyd Allenton's Tooling team. The primary responsibility of this position is the preparation and maintenance of the die-cast tooling necessary for our manufacturing processes. The ability to work as a team and good communication skills are key components for success in this role. Essential Job Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on shot rods, high-pressure die-cast tooling, and trim dies.
- Complete shop paperwork accurately and as directed
- Support production needs by completing any necessary tooling or machining work in accordance with established company procedures
- Fix broken tools, mills, lathes, and grinders
- Make cores tips, fixtures, and slot rods
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Must support and follow the QMS requirements
- Observe all Boyd safety and OSHA guidelines and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Perform advanced mathematics and be able to use a calculator
- Must communicate with employees on a professional level at all times
- Basic reasoning skills and language skills (ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business paperwork)
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions/requests from managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization
- Proficient with MS Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and use of a PC Preferred Skills and Experience
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on maintaining company quality standards at all times
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work based on business needs.
- Ability to work under time constraints with changing priorities under minimal supervision
- Must be able to follow directions and work in a team environment.
- Previous tooling experience Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or touch tools, equipment, and/or controls
- Must have the ability to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds
