TOLM GROUP, INC. WATER/WASTEWATER EQUIPMENT OPERATOR TOLM
Group is seeking an experienced Equipment Operator who can safely and efficiently operate construction equipment in water/wastewater and heavy civil construction. The right candidate will be a dependable, skilled operator who understands excavation, trenching, underground utilities, grading, material handling, equipment care, and how to work productively with pipe and field crews on water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This position reports to the Superintendent/Foreman and is responsible for operating assigned equipment accurately and safely in support of water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, lift station, underground piping, site utilities, and related heavy civil construction.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
At least 2 years of construction equipment operating experience, preferably in water/wastewater, underground utility, or heavy civil construction; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Non-Negotiable Proficient in the safe operation of excavators, loaders, backhoes, dozers, skid steers, rollers, and other equipment used for excavation, trenching, backfill, grading, material handling, and utility installation. Non-Negotiable Strong knowledge of safe equipment operating techniques and hazards associated with excavation, trenching, underground utilities, personnel, and active construction sites. Non-Negotiable Working knowledge of equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, fueling, lubrication, and basic repairs. Able to follow site plans, grade stakes, markings, elevations, and supervisor instructions to support excavation, trenching, pipe installation, backfill, grading, loading, and material placement. Non-Negotiable Maintains awareness of spotters, trench conditions, overhead hazards, underground utilities, existing infrastructure, personnel, and changing jobsite conditions. Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work with limited supervision while communicating effectively with supervisors and field crews. Experience with GPS or grade-control systems is preferred when applicable. NCCER certification is preferred. This position requires regular travel and overnight stays at project locations during the workweek. Valid driver's license and must be insurable under TOLM's Commercial Auto Liability policy. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
The Equipment Operator should be able to take direction from the Superintendent or Foreman and turn it into safe, accurate, productive equipment operation. We are looking for someone who understands that operating equipment on water/wastewater projects is more than moving dirt.
The Operator should know:
What are we excavating or installing? What grade, elevation, layout, or markings do I need to follow? Where are the existing utilities? Is the excavation or trench safe? What does the pipe or field crew need from me? Am I operating safely and efficiently? Are there equipment, access, utility, or site conditions that need to be communicated?

This is an opportunity for an experienced Equipment Operator to become a key member of TOLM Group's water/wastewater construction operations. The right person will have the opportunity to operate a variety of equipment on treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, underground utilities, piping, excavation, grading, and related infrastructure projects while working alongside experienced field teams and continuing to develop their skills as TOLM grows.
