High School Responsibilities Plant Operations:

Manage daily wastewater treatment processes, including batch treatment of plating wastewater, operation of filter presses, and calibration of pH meters and chemical analyzers.

Inspection & Maintenance:

Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment and pump stations; perform routine lubrication, tank/sump cleaning, pump repacking, and scrubber maintenance.

Quality & Analysis:

Conduct frequent analysis of treated wastewater using Atomic Absorption (AA) tools; maintain detailed logs and work records per regulatory guidelines.

Emergency & Recovery:

Initiate corrective actions for equipment failures and restore plant processes after shutdowns or power outages.

Safety & Environment:

Maintain inventory of process supplies, respond to hazardous material/spill cleanup, and uphold strict OSHA, environmental, and facility safety standards.

General Support:

Operate facility equipment (e.g., forklifts), assist with plating lines, and keep work areas clean and organized.

Qualifications & Requirements Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Certifications:

Certification in Industrial Wastewater Treatment or Hazardous Waste Treatment. Valid California Driver's License.

Experience:

Minimum 1 year in wastewater treatment operations. Minimum 1 year handling industrial chemicals or working in a metal plating environment.
