Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Wastewater Level A Operator to oversee and operate a wastewater treatment system in a food production environment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of wastewater treatment operations, environmental compliance, process safety, and equipment maintenance. The successful candidate should be capable of independently operating the treatment system, troubleshooting and rebuilding pumps and equipment, maintaining compliance records, and serving in a Direct Responsible Charge (DRC) capacity. Key Responsibilities Operate and monitor the facility's wastewater treatment system. Support overall environmental compliance , including required sampling, monitoring, and regulatory reporting. Perform process-control laboratory testing and document results accurately. Maintain compliance records and required operational documentation. Monitor system performance and respond to equipment issues and operational problems. Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on pumps and wastewater treatment equipment. Rebuild pumps and other treatment-system equipment as needed. Maintain equipment and preventive maintenance schedules. Follow all safety procedures, including PPE, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements. Identify, report, and help correct unsafe acts and conditions. Ensure wastewater operations remain compliant with federal, state, and local regulations. Required Qualifications Level III Wastewater Operator License required. 4+ years of acceptable operating experience in a Class II or higher wastewater facility. At least 2 years of experience in a Direct Responsible Charge (DRC) position. Associate's Degree in Science, Engineering , or another board-approved curriculum, or equivalent approved coursework. Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes and environmental compliance. Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and rebuild pumps and related equipment. Knowledge of process safety, LOTO, PPE, and PSM requirements. Strong documentation and recordkeeping skills.
