In this vital role, you'll lead and execute construction projects focused on utility installation, repair, and maintenance. Your expertise will ensure that water and sewer infrastructure is built to the highest standards, adhering to safety regulations and project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to oversee heavy equipment operations, coordinate skilled crews, and contribute to essential community infrastructure development with energy and precision. Duties Operate and oversee construction machinery including excavators, loaders, backhoes, and Caterpillar equipment to perform excavation, grading, and utility installation tasks efficiently. Lead a team of workers on-site, assigning tasks related to water, sewer, and drainage system installation while ensuring adherence to safety procedures and project timelines. Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections of all equipment to guarantee optimal performance and compliance with equipment safety procedures. Utilize utility locating techniques to accurately identify underground utilities before excavation or construction activities commence. Manage construction grading activities to ensure proper elevation and alignment for pipelines and drainage systems. Follow federal construction safety regulations and enforce safety regulations among team members to maintain a safe work environment at all times. Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and other stakeholders to ensure project specifications are met efficiently and effectively. Experience Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, and Caterpillar equipment in utility or civil construction projects. Strong knowledge of construction utility work including water lines, sewer systems, drainage infrastructure, and excavation techniques. Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures is essential. Prior experience in construction site management or supervision as a foreman or lead operator is highly preferred. Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial truck driving is advantageous for transporting equipment or materials between sites. (NOT Required) Demonstrated understanding of construction grading, utility locating, excavation processes, and general construction site experience.
