Silverwood Theme Park is looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined Wastewater Treatment Plant Technician to join our Facilities Department . This is a full-time, year-round position responsible for helping operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Silverwood's wastewater treatment system and related equipment. We're looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, understands mechanical systems, pays attention to detail, and takes pride in keeping essential equipment operating safely and efficiently. Wastewater treatment experience is highly valued, but candidates with strong mechanical, plumbing, electrical, utility, industrial maintenance, or facilities backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As our Wastewater Treatment Plant Technician, you will help keep an essential part of Silverwood's infrastructure operating safely and effectively.

Responsibilities include:

Operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater treatment equipment and systems. Perform daily inspections of pumps, motors, valves, tanks, piping, aeration systems, controls, and related equipment. Monitor treatment processes and make authorized operational adjustments when necessary. Read and record meters, gauges, flow information, equipment conditions, and treatment data. Collect wastewater samples and perform routine process-control and water-quality testing. Farming-Operating farm machinery-cutting, raking, bailing of re-use fields Maintain accurate operating, testing, inspection, maintenance, and compliance records. Troubleshoot mechanical and operational problems and assist with repairs. Perform preventive maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, equipment inspections, and minor repairs. Maintain and repair pumps, motors, valves, piping, and other wastewater-related equipment within the scope of training and experience. Monitor system alarms and respond appropriately to abnormal operating conditions. Assist with sludge handling and other wastewater treatment processes. Safely handle and store treatment chemicals and maintain appropriate chemical inventories. Keep the wastewater treatment plant, equipment, buildings, and surrounding areas clean, organized, and safe. Assist with seasonal startup, shutdown, and operational changes associated with Silverwood's seasonal attendance and wastewater flows. Respond to wastewater system problems, equipment failures, spills, overflows, and other urgent situations. Work with other members of the Facilities team on utility, plumbing, mechanical, and facility-related projects as needed. Follow all Silverwood safety procedures and applicable environmental and regulatory requirements.

SKILLS WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate will have a combination of the following skills: Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability. Knowledge of pumps, motors, valves, piping, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Basic electrical knowledge, including the ability to safely troubleshoot basic electrical and control-system issues. Understanding of wastewater treatment processes and equipment. Ability to read gauges, meters, testing equipment, schematics, equipment manuals, and operating instructions. Knowledge of wastewater sampling and basic laboratory/testing procedures. Ability to recognize abnormal treatment conditions and equipment performance. Preventive maintenance and equipment-repair skills. Basic plumbing and piping repair skills. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, meters, and maintenance equipment safely. Basic computer skills and the ability to accurately maintain electronic and written records. Strong math skills, including the ability to perform calculations related to flow, volume, chemical usage, and treatment processes. Good judgment and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to organize work and complete required inspections and documentation without constant supervision. Ability to communicate equipment, safety, and treatment concerns clearly to management. Dependability and willingness to respond when an essential system needs attention.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS

Required High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment. Ability to safely use hand and power tools. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and maintain accurate records. Ability and willingness to obtain wastewater treatment certifications required for the position. Preferred Qualifications We strongly encourage applicants with any combination of the following experience, licenses, or certifications: Previous wastewater treatment plant experience. Idaho Wastewater Treatment Operator certification. Water or wastewater operator certification from another state with the ability to obtain applicable Idaho certification. Wastewater collections system experience or certification. Water distribution or water treatment experience. Pump maintenance and repair experience. Plumbing, pipefitting, or utility maintenance experience. Industrial, facilities, or mechanical maintenance experience. Electrical troubleshooting experience. Experience with wastewater laboratory testing and sampling. Experience maintaining environmental or regulatory compliance records. OSHA safety training. Confined Space Entry training/certification. Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) training. First Aid/CPR/AED certification. HAZCOM or chemical-handling training. Don't have every certification listed? We still want to hear from you. PHYSICAL & WORKING REQUIREMENTS

This is an active, hands-on Facilities position.

Candidates must be able to:

Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and climb. Regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Climb stairs and ladders and safely work around tanks, pumps, piping, and mechanical equipment. Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow. Work in wet, muddy, noisy, and occasionally unpleasant-smelling environments. Safely work around wastewater, biological materials, treatment chemicals, and mechanical equipment. Wear required personal protective equipment. Wear respiratory protection when required and medically qualified. Perform confined-space-related work when properly trained, authorized, and equipped. SCHEDULE

This is a full-time, year-round position . Because wastewater treatment is an essential part of Silverwood's operation, the position may require some early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime, and occasional emergency or after-hours response. Workload and wastewater flows increase significantly during Silverwood's operating season.

PAY & BENEFITS

$23.00-$25.00 per hour , depending on experience, qualifications, and certifications. This is a full-time position with Silverwood's benefits package , including benefits available to eligible full-time Cast Members.
