Job Title:
Wastewater Treatment Operator Job Description We are seeking a skilled Wastewater Treatment Operator to join our team. This role involves managing wastewater systems and operating a plating line to ensure high-quality coating of metal parts. The position prioritizes wastewater treatment experience, including pH and conductivity reading, regular monitoring of pumps and systems, and familiarity with flocculants and coagulants. Responsibilities Monitor plating baths for proper chemical levels, temperature, and time cycles. Perform pH balancing and monitoring. Operate filter presses and other mechanical filtration systems. Utilize lab test kits to verify that water meets MWRD standards before it goes down the industrial sewer. Prepare parts for plating by cleaning, masking, and inspecting surfaces. Operate plating tanks and equipment according to established procedures. Inspect plated parts for thickness, adhesion, and overall quality. Maintain accurate production records and quality documentation. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of plating equipment. Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of chemicals and PPE usage. Report any equipment issues or quality concerns to supervisors promptly. Essential Skills Wastewater treatment experience, including ph balancing, operating filter presses, and using lab test kits. Plating operating experience. High School Diploma or GED required. Ability to read, write, and speak English. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in machine operating and plating line operations. Familiarity with pre-treatment and racking of metal parts. Work Environment Work in a temperature-controlled, clean, and well-organized facility. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Rolling Meadows, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
