Brazing Operator Job Description In this specialized entry-level role, you will perform torch brazing primarily on copper-to-copper joints. This is a critical step in manufacturing high-conductivity power distribution components (like busbars) for electric vehicles and industrial power systems. You will be trained to create high-strength, leak-proof bonds using manual oxygen-fuel torches. The position offers the flexibility of working either a 1st Shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM or a 2nd Shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM. Responsibilities Set up and operate hand-held torches to heat copper components to the correct temperature for alloy flow. Apply flux and filler metals (silver or phosphorus-copper alloys) to create clean, high-conductivity joints between copper plates, terminals, or tubes. Clean and degrease copper surfaces; use jigs and fixtures to align parts according to blueprints. Remove flux residue and oxidation; perform visual inspections to ensure complete capillary action and bond integrity. Strictly follow safety protocols for pressurized gas cylinders, open flames, and ventilation. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
