Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Certified Water Treatment Operator to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will oversee the operation and maintenance of water treatment systems to ensure the delivery of safe, clean, and reliable water services. Your expertise will help maintain compliance with environmental regulations while optimizing system performance. Duties Operate and monitor water treatment equipment, including pumps, filters, chemical feed systems, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to ensure optimal performance. Conduct routine inspections of water systems, identifying issues early and implementing corrective actions. Collect and analyze data related to water quality parameters, making adjustments to maintain compliance with environmental standards. Maintain accurate records of system operations, maintenance activities, chemical usage, and safety procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements. Follow safety regulations and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times during operations involving heavy equipment or hazardous materials. Assist in troubleshooting complex control systems such as distributed control systems (DCS) and PLCs to resolve operational issues efficiently. Requirements Valid certification as a Water Treatment Operator 1AD from an accredited agency; experience working in wastewater treatment plants is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of water treatment processes, and environmental compliance standards. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and automation technology used in water treatment facilities. Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret data accurately for process adjustments and troubleshooting. Experience working in the energy & utilities sector or similar industrial environments is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting (50LBS), climb ladders, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions safely. Basic math skills for calculations related to chemical dosages, flow rates, and system measurements.
