Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for maintaining treatment processes, monitoring equipment, performing testing, maintaining records, and ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently. This position may also provide support to the Senior Leader - Operations as directed.
What You'll Do:
Operate and maintain wastewater treatment plant systems and well systems Monitor and maintain chemical treatment levels to ensure proper treatment processes Operate and monitor telemetry systems (SCADA) Maintain plant equipment, buildings, and grounds Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance activities Conduct laboratory testing and analysis to monitor treatment effectiveness Maintain accurate regulatory logs, operational records, and required documentation Evaluate treatment process issues and assist with troubleshooting Provide professional customer service when interacting with customers or the public Assist with emergency response and participate in on-call rotation when required
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma or equivalent Minimum one (1) year of experience in field operations programs preferred Possess a North Carolina Grade 2 Wastewater Treatment Certification or willingness to obtain certification within one year of hire Willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong work ethic and mechanical ability Valid North Carolina Driver's License required Strong communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak English effectively Ability to work independently with limited supervision Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance Additional Requirements U.S. Citizen E-Verification Required High School Diploma or GED Valid North Carolina Driver's License No Felony or Major Misdemeanor Convictions Readily accessible by phone and available for emergency on-call rotation Drug-Free Workplace ( Initial and Random Drug Testing Required ) Pre-Employment Physical Examination & Medical History Review Successful Criminal Background Check Ready to Take the Next Step?
