Entry-Level Water & Wastewater Operator The Town of Farmington is seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join our Public Works team as an Entry-Level Water & Wastewater Operator . This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in developing a career in municipal water and wastewater operations. Prior water or wastewater experience is not required. The Town will provide on-the-job training and support the successful candidate in obtaining the necessary certifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the operation and maintenance of the Town's water and wastewater systems. Assist with water and wastewater sampling and testing. Perform routine inspections of pumps, valves, hydrants, tanks, lift stations, and related equipment. Assist with water main, sewer, and utility repairs. Perform routine maintenance of equipment, facilities, and grounds. Operate Town vehicles, tools, and equipment following appropriate training. Assist with excavation, trenching, pipe installation, and utility construction. Respond to water and wastewater emergencies as assigned. Maintain accurate maintenance and operational records. Assist with other Public Works activities, including seasonal and emergency operations.

What We're Looking For:

High school diploma or GED. Valid New Hampshire driver's license. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to obtain required water and wastewater certifications. CDL is preferred or the ability to obtain one within an established timeframe. Training & Advancement The Town of Farmington is committed to developing employees and providing opportunities to learn and advance. Training will be provided in water and wastewater operations, equipment, safety, regulatory requirements, and other job-related areas. The successful candidate will be expected to obtain applicable New Hampshire Water Works and Wastewater Operator certifications as required.

Starting Pay:

$20.00 - $25.00 upon experience
