Sanitation Team Members Position Type:
Full-Time About the Role We are looking for a hands-on Sanitation Supervisor to lead our 3rd shift sanitation team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role leads a small team of three employees and works alongside them on the production floor to ensure equipment and production areas are properly cleaned and ready for operation. This is not a desk-only supervisor position—you'll be actively involved with the team while also handling documentation, SOPs, sanitation records, inspections, audit readiness, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys leading from the floor, developing employees, solving problems, and taking ownership of sanitation and food safety standards. What You'll Do Lead, coach, and work alongside a team of three sanitation employees during daily sanitation activities. Oversee cleaning and sanitation of production equipment, processing areas, warehouse, and support areas. Ensure sanitation activities are completed according to the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS). Train employees on proper cleaning procedures, chemical handling, PPE, GMPs, and Lockout/Tagout requirements. Conduct pre- and post-operational inspections and perform ATP and microbiological swabbing to verify cleaning effectiveness. Create, review, and update Sanitation SOPs, SSOPs, Work Instructions, checklists, and other sanitation documentation. Maintain accurate sanitation, chemical usage, inspection, and verification records. Support SQF, FDA, customer, and internal audits and ensure sanitation documentation is audit-ready. Investigate sanitation issues and participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions. Partner with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and plant leadership to resolve sanitation issues and drive continuous improvement. Manage sanitation supplies and chemical inventory and coordinate with vendors as needed. Promote a strong culture of food safety, employee safety, accountability, and teamwork. What We're Looking For 3-5 years of sanitation experience in food manufacturing or food processing. 1-2 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Strong knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SSOPs, food safety, and sanitation practices. Familiarity with SQF and FDA requirements. Experience with sanitation chemicals, SDS, ATP testing, and sanitation verification practices. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Comfortable being hands-on on the production floor while also completing computer-based documentation and administrative responsibilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, or similar systems. What Makes This Opportunity Different You'll have direct ownership of sanitation on 3rd shift while leading a small, focused team of three employees. This position offers a balance between hands-on floor leadership and administrative responsibility, giving you the opportunity to improve processes, develop your team, strengthen sanitation programs, and directly impact food safety and operational success.
