Job Description
Experience Bass Environmental is seeking a hands-on Wastewater Treatment Operator/Laborer to oversee daily wastewater treatment operations at our Aliquippa facility. This role is responsible for operating and optimizing treatment processes, performing analytical testing, maintaining regulatory compliance, maintenance and serving as a professional point of contact for customers. The ideal candidate combines strong chemistry, mechanical and process knowledge with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. What We're Looking For A self-motivated operator who can run the treatment process, understand the chemistry, build strong customer relationships, and take ownership of wastewater operations at the Aliquippa facility. Responsibilities Operate and control wastewater treatment plant equipment, including pumps, valves, aerators, and chemical dosing systems, ensuring optimal performance. Monitor plant processes through data collection, analysis, and interpretation of control system displays such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS). Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on industrial pumps, mechanical components, plumbing fixtures, and heavy equipment to prevent downtime. Conduct water quality testing and analysis to verify compliance with environmental regulations; adjust processes accordingly.
Maintain accurate records of operational data, equipment repairs, chemical usage, and system performance for reporting purposes. Assist with construction activities related to plant upgrades or expansions while adhering to safety protocols.
Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) properly during all tasks to ensure safety standards are met at all times Heavy equipment operation/loading/unloading trucks, etc. Other duties as assigned. Requirments 3 years of experience working in a wastewater treatment plant or water systems environment is required Operator 1, 2 or 3 license strongly preferred Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, operate heavy machinery confidently, and work indoor or outdoor environments HS Diploma; Bachelor preferred in chemistry, environmental science or related Client facing/Customer service experience Hands-on knowledge of wastewater systems, industrial pump maintenance and repair, and water treatment processes is essential. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and automation technology enhances operational efficiency. Demonstrated mechanical knowledge including plumbing skills, heavy equipment operation, and general maintenance tasks. Experience working within the energy & utilities sector or industrial facilities is advantageous. Strong analysis skills combined with basic math proficiency are necessary for process adjustments and data interpretation. Ability to self supervise and get work completed efficiently • Physical Requirements Ability to work in an industrial environment and wear required PPE. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and perform routine equipment inspections.
