Job Description

Maintenance Tech (Bargaining Unit) - Wastewater Full-time, M-F typically 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. $19.86 plus benefits. High School Diploma or GED supplemented by related trade or vocational school courses, prefer two (2) years' experience in mechanical maintenance and repair, or equivalent. Possession of a valid State of Ohio CDL license with ability to obtain tanker and air brake endorsement within 90 days.
Responsibilities:
Inspects, installs and repairs pumps, motors, reads/installs meters and other equipment used in wastewater treatment. Replaces bearings, mechanical seals, couplings, and other parts as required; inspects equipment for excessive wearing of parts and performs necessary repairs. Performs preventative maintenance work on equipment, e.g., cleans filters, oils and lubricates parts, etc.; uses variety of hand tools, air tools to perform necessary tasks, e.g., wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, etc. Performs unskilled and semi-skilled tasks, e.g., cleans sludge beds, paints treatment plant and lift station structures and equipment, weed eats grass around treatment plants and lift stations, etc. Cleans and maintains sewer collection system lines, manholes, wet wells, etc. Requires descending and ascending ladders into tanks and pump stations for cleaning and maintenance.
