Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Water Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of water treatment systems and related equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, as well as the ability to analyze data and perform heavy lifting as needed. The Water Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient delivery of clean water and the proper treatment of wastewater. Responsibilities Operate and maintain water treatment systems, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Conduct regular inspections and perform necessary repairs on equipment, including programmable logic controllers and distributed control systems. Collect and analyze data related to water quality and system performance. Perform plumbing tasks as required, including installation and maintenance of pipelines and fixtures. Operate heavy equipment safely during construction or maintenance activities. Assist in wastewater treatment processes, ensuring optimal operation of related systems. Engage in heavy lifting tasks associated with equipment handling and installation. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance. Skills Proficient in mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems. Strong analytical skills for data collection and interpretation related to water treatment processes. Experience in plumbing, construction, and heavy equipment operation is highly desirable. Basic math skills for calculations related to system operations and maintenance tasks. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively as part of daily responsibilities. Knowledge and Skills Required Ability to obtain or currently hold a Wastewater Operator's A, B, C or D license within a year from hire date Experience in Wastewater Demonstrated effective communication skills Understanding of cause and effect of all downstream operations Mechanical aptitude for machine operation Ability to read and comprehend written instructions as well as printed machine manual of operation
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Walk / stand 100% of time during a 12-hour shift. Must be able to work in a hot humid environment for up to 12 hours at a time Must be able to stand, climb stairs, ladders, etc up to 80% of the time Work in an environment directly affected by weather outside.
