Job Summary MWC Group is seeking an experienced Shop Welder / Structural Steel Fabricator at our Adelanto fabrication facility. We are looking for a skilled structural steel welder who can read shop drawings, understand welding symbols, perform accurate fit-up and produce quality welds with limited supervision. Responsibilities Weld and fabricate structural steel and miscellaneous metal components. Read and interpret shop drawings, fabrication drawings and welding symbols. Perform FCAW, SMAW and/or GMAW welding. Fit and assemble beams, columns, frames, plates, stairs, rails and other steel components. Measure, lay out, cut and prepare steel for fabrication. Perform grinding, drilling and other fabrication operations. Verify dimensions and piece marks against drawings. Maintain quality standards throughout fabrication. Safely operate shop equipment when qualified. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Qualifications 2+ years of structural steel welding/fabrication experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to read shop drawings and welding symbols. Strong structural steel fit-up and welding skills. Experience with multiple types of welding applications preferred. Ability to accurately measure and lay out steel. AWS structural welding certification preferred but not required . Dependable attendance and strong work ethic. Ability to safely handle steel and work in an active fabrication environment. Experienced welders who are not currently certified may be considered based on demonstrated welding ability and experience. This is a hands-on structural steel fabrication position. Candidates without relevant welding or fabrication experience will not be considered.
