Welder Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Welder to join our team in a full-time capacity. This role involves supporting fabrication and manufacturing operations by performing high-quality welding on structural and custom metal fabrication projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in FCAW, the ability to read blueprints and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS). Responsibilities Perform welding using FCAW, GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, SAW, and oxy-acetylene processes as required. Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and weld specifications. Read and follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS). Prepare materials through cutting, grinding, cleaning, and fitting. Perform welds in multiple positions while maintaining quality and productivity standards. Maintain welding equipment and ensure equipment remains in good working order. Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, quality personnel, and inspectors. Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment. Support fabrication and production operations as needed. Essential Skills Minimum 5 years of welding experience. Expertise in FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding), GMAW (MIG Welding), GTAW (TIG Welding), and SMAW (Stick Welding). Ability to pass 3G FCAW weld tests and follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS). Heavy fabrication and structural welding experience. Ability to work safely in a manufacturing/fabrication environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in SAW (Submerged Arc Welding), oxy-acetylene welding, and carbon arc gouging. ASME Section IX qualifications. Knowledge of weld inspection. Skills in metal fitting and fabrication. Experience with grinding and material preparation. Overhead crane and forklift experience. Industrial manufacturing experience. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Benicia, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
