Job Description

What this job is about: Melfred Borzall is a 3rd generation manufacturing company eagerly seeking a driven candidate to join our team. From our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility on California's Central Coast, we design, produce, and sell tools that are a key component to the successful installation of underground utilities. For this full-time position, we are seeking a highly motivated individual who excels both independently and in teams. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless execution of welding projects by interpreting blueprints, following detailed instructions, preparing and welding components for our tools, and fostering a safe and efficient work atmosphere. Should you be chosen, your responsibilities can include, but are not limited to: Preparing materials for welding, including plasma cutting, drilling, grinding, and cleaning surfaces to ensure proper fit and alignment Reading blueprints and drawings to ensure proper fit-up Properly welding components and materials to our standard Assisting in post-weld cleanup, including removing slag, spatter, and excess materials from finished welds Maintaining a clean and organized work area, following safety guidelines for the proper storage of tools and equipment If that sounds like a perfect fit for you, then here are some of the qualities and skills we need you to have for all of us to be successful: MIG welding experience (3+ years preferred) High school diploma or GED Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and well organized Glass half full attitude with a "get things done" mentality Ability to communicate, write, and read English Dependable, our hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. Some other skills that would be beneficial, but not required:
