Description:
Summit Bodyworks, a premier builder of tool trucks, mobile libraries, moving trucks and other specialty vehicles has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Welder. Every truck we build is customized from the chassis up; we build our vehicles to suit the needs and desires of our diverse customer base. As part of our team you will perform metal fabrication and welding functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Construct and manufacture metals parts and products using various welding techniques. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and engineering drawings. Perform quality inspections to ensure welds meet specification and standards. Complete understanding of fixture welding and requirements for set-up & changes needed to complete the task. Ability to fabricate any item required to complete an assigned task. Use hand tools, power tools and measuring instruments to complete tasks. Maintain and repair welders and other large tools used in the fabrication department. Full understanding of what material is being welded and identify what weld process will be suitable for part/material. Collaborate with team members to plan and prioritize work assignments. Other duties as assigned by the manager.
Requirements:
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES
Frequent mobility and/or sitting, standing, bending or stooping for prolonged/extended periods Requires lifting up to 50 pounds frequently Requires lifting up to 75 pounds occasionally Requires eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate machinery Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours Requires working in a fast-paced environment Requires a normal range of hearing and vision Must understand vague and implicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
High School Diploma or GED equivalent Valid Driver's License and MVR in good standing. Ability to pass structural weld inspection Knowledge of steel and aluminum fabrication techniques Experience in machine operations in a manufacturing environment (preferred) Ability to use various power and hand tools Ability to read blueprints Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass a Post-offer background check, physical and drug screening
