Valiant Living Detox and Assessment Salary Range:
65,000-$75,000 We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and clinically grounded Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) to join our multidisciplinary treatment team. This position is ideal for a professional who is passionate about helping individuals navigate substance use disorders, early recovery, and the development of sustainable recovery skills. The CAS will provide direct clinical services within a structured treatment environment and collaborate closely with therapists, case management, medical/psychiatric providers, and other members of the treatment team. Key Responsibilities Facilitate evidence-based substance use disorder and recovery-focused groups. Provide individual addiction counseling within the scope of CAS credentialing. Complete timely and clinically appropriate documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, assessments, and discharge documentation. Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and clinical case consultation. Assist clients in identifying relapse patterns, triggers, barriers to recovery, and appropriate coping strategies. Provide psychoeducation related to addiction, relapse prevention, recovery skills, emotional regulation, and healthy relationships. Support clients in developing individualized recovery and continuing-care plans. Coordinate with clinical, medical, case management, and support staff to maintain continuity of care. Maintain professional boundaries and uphold client confidentiality. Follow organizational policies and applicable state, federal, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelors Degree in Psychology, social work, human services, counseling/mental health counseling Current Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) credential in Colorado in good standing. Experience working with individuals experiencing substance use disorders. Strong understanding of addiction, recovery, relapse prevention, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary behavioral health team. Strong clinical documentation, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to maintain appropriate professional and ethical boundaries.
Preferred:
Experience working in detoxification, residential, PHP, IOP, or other structured behavioral health settings. Familiarity with ASAM Criteria and level-of-care considerations. Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Knowledge of CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and other evidence-based interventions. Experience utilizing an electronic medical record (EMR).
Compensation:
Competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
