Job Description
Summit Bodyworks, a premier builder of tool trucks, mobile libraries, moving trucks and other specialty vehicles has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Welder. Every truck we build is customized from the chassis up; we build our vehicles to suit the needs and desires of our diverse customer base. As part of our team you will perform metal fabrication and welding functions.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and engineering drawings.
Perform quality inspections to ensure welds meet specification and standards.
Complete understanding of fixture welding and requirements for set-up & changes needed to complete the task.
Ability to fabricate any item required to complete an assigned task.
Use hand tools, power tools and measuring instruments to complete tasks.
Maintain and repair welders and other large tools used in the fabrication department.
Full understanding of what material is being welded and identify what weld process will be suitable for part/material.
Collaborate with team members to plan and prioritize work assignments.
Other duties as assigned by the manager.
Ability to pass structural weld inspectionKnowledge of steel and aluminum fabrication techniquesExperience in machine operations in a manufacturing environment (preferred)Ability to use various power and hand toolsAbility to read blueprintsAbility to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass a Post-offer background check, physical and drug screening

Construct and manufacture metals parts and products using various welding techniques.Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and engineering drawings.
