Assistant Fabricator Job Description You'll work alongside experienced fabricators in a fast-paced shop environment where you'll learn valuable trade skills and operate a variety of fabrication equipment. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Mechanically inclined with experience using hand and power tools Ability to read a tape measure Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fabrication shop environment Nice To Haves Blueprint reading is a plus OSHA 10 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) Forklift certification is a plus Responsibilities Assist with cutting, prepping, and fabricating pipe and steel materials Load and unload materials and trucks Prepare fittings, supports, and fabrication components Operate and assist with fabrication equipment and hand tools Support a safe, organized, and productive fabrication shop Benefits Professional growth Work Environment Typical shifts run from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 or 6:00 p.m., with some days starting as early as 5:00 a.m. at the shop and ending around 8:00 p.m. when traveling to job sites. Y The work involves exposure to outdoor conditions and active construction environments, requiring appropriate field attire and safety-conscious behavior. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake City, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
