Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, assembling, and repairing metal structures and components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise in various welding techniques, blueprint reading, and metal fabrication will contribute to the successful completion of projects across construction sites and fabrication shops. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse materials, tools, and advanced welding technologies in a fast-paced environment dedicated to quality craftsmanship. Duties Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to guide precise welding and assembly processes. Perform welding using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Fabricate metal components by cutting, shaping, and assembling sheet metal, structural steel, and other metal materials utilizing plasma cutters, power tools, and machining equipment. Measure materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure proper fit-up and alignment. Use hand tools and power tools safely to prepare surfaces, assemble parts, and complete welding tasks efficiently. Adhere strictly to safety protocols on construction sites or within fabrication shops to maintain a secure working environment. Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks involving mechanical fabrication, metal fabrication, and installation of welded structures. Requirements Proven experience working on construction sites or in fabrication shops with a strong understanding of mechanical fabrication processes. Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and interpreting mechanical blueprints accurately. Skilled in multiple welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, with knowledge of ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels or piping systems. Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise measurements. Ability to operate plasma cutters, machining tools, gas metal arc welding equipment, and other power tools safely. Mechanical knowledge related to assembly processes and the use of hand tools in metal fabrication projects. Experience working with sheet metal materials and performing sheet metal fabrication tasks efficiently. Strong adherence to safety protocols while working at heights or on construction sites involving cranes or heavy machinery. Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks. Certification from the American Welding Society (AWS) or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience is essential. Join us as a vital part of our team where your craftsmanship will help build durable structures while advancing your skills in a supportive environment committed to excellence!
