SUMMARY:

Fits, and welds fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble by performing the following duties. Also, assures parts comply to drawing specifications. This will be for welding aluminum.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following: Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements) Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead) Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together. Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding. Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts. Clean work area Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety Other duties may be assigned. This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. 3+ years proven experience aluminum TIG/MIG welding Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.) Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.) Deftness and attention to detail Proficient in English Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program preferred Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) preferred Knowledge of

Will-Burt IES builds communication units for many industries. We are looking for technically skilled candidates with good attention to detail. Welders are responsible for adhering to a production schedule, ensuring that all parts are properly fitted, aligned, and secured and ensuring that safety standards are always met, among other duties. This will be welding aluminum. Monday-Friday 6am-2:45pm.
