About Fusion Steel Fusion Steel is a growing custom fabrication company serving Idaho and Utah. We specialize in structural steel, architectural steel, custom railings, commercial projects, and high-end residential metalwork. Our projects range from structural steel packages for commercial and residential construction to luxury custom railings, stair systems, and architectural features in some of the region's finest homes. We are not a production welding shop. We take pride in delivering work that is structurally sound, visually appealing, and built to a level of quality that exceeds expectations. We're looking for a skilled fabricator who cares about craftsmanship, takes ownership of their work, and wants to be part of a company that is continuing to grow. Position Overview The ideal candidate is capable of fabricating projects from drawings with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail. This position involves a mix of structural steel fabrication, custom railings, architectural metalwork, commercial projects, high-end residential steel packages, shop fabrication, and occasional field installation. Responsibilities Read and interpret fabrication drawings Layout and fabricate projects accurately Perform MIG, pulse MIG, and stick welding Maintain dimensional accuracy and quality standards Work independently while meeting deadlines Communicate project needs and potential issues Help maintain an organized and efficient shop Load and unload materials safely Assist with field installation when required Represent the company professionally on job sites Qualifications Required Welding and fabrication experience Ability to read shop drawings Strong measuring and layout skills Ability to work safely and efficiently Reliable transportation Positive attitude and strong work ethic Preferred AWS welding experience Structural steel fabrication experience Architectural metalwork experience Custom railing experience Stair fabrication experience Installation experience Forklift, telehandler, or equipment experience The Type of Person Who Excels Here Takes pride in their work Notices details other people miss Cares about quality as much as speed Works without constant supervision Shows up on time and ready to work Takes ownership of mistakes and learns from them Continuously looks for ways to improve Treats company equipment and customer projects as their own Enjoys building unique custom projects rather than repetitive production work Compensation Compensation is based on experience, skill level, productivity, and ability to work independently.
