Job Description
Webco Manufacturing seeks a Custom Fabrication Welder to join our precision sheet metal team in Alto, GA. In this role, you'll interpret blueprints, set up welding equipment, and fabricate custom metal components to tight tolerances. Responsibilities include MIG/TIG welding, fitting, grinding, and finishing, inspecting work for quality, and following safety procedures. You'll work closely with engineers and assemblers to solve fabrication challenges, support continuous improvement, and maintain a clean, organized work area in our advanced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings to produce custom metal parts Perform MIG and TIG welding on sheet metal and fabricated components Set up, operate, and maintain welding and basic fabrication equipment Fit, tack, grind, and finish welds to meet quality and cosmetic standards Inspect welds and parts using measurement tools and visual inspection Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area Collaborate with engineers and production team to resolve fabrication issues Support continuous improvement and standard work initiatives Document work as required for quality and production tracking Assist with assembly and finishing tasks as production needs require Required Skills MIG welding TIG welding Blueprint reading Sheet metal fabrication Weld inspection and quality control Use of fabrication tools (grinders, saws, brakes) Fixture and jig setup Mechanical measurement tools (calipers, micrometers) Welding safety practices Basic fabrication math
