Job Description

JOB PURPOSE
This position is responsible for the fabrication of parts or components. Additionally, this position welds parts and components.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Programs, sets up, and operates the robotic welder. Set up and operate the following machines and welding equipment; punch press, hand brakes, tube roller, cutting torch, MIG (metal inert gas) welder, spot welder, Determine reference points, location of holes, and compute angular and linear dimensions. Tack-weld fitted parts together. Use machinery to balance augers. Lay out and examine metal stock or work pieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met. Determine material requirements and task sequences based on engineered drawings and blueprints. Position, align, fit, de-burr, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits. Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CAPABILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, competency, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Technical Prior fabrication and/or welding experience. Prior mechanical or agriculture experience preferred. Prior forklift certification or ability to complete in house training. Prior experience working with lifting equipment and knowledge of basic rigging procedures preferred. Ability to use a tape measure and other measuring devices accurately. Mathematical skills necessary to perform essential calculations. Physical Ability to frequently lift, carry, bend, stoop and/or reach. Ability to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently. Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment functional capacity test. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Finger, hand, and wrist dexterity sufficient to manipulate hand tools, powered equipment, and welders. Other Must be 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to bring or acquire a basic tool set within the first 90 days of employment (Basic tool list is available upon request and a tool program is available to help offset cost). Attention to detail and accuracy.
