DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform welding of components in accordance with the applicable Work Order. Perform the appropriate preventive and corrective maintenance of welding equipment. Responsible for the safety of personnel and safe operation of welding equipment. Responsible for notifying supervisory personnel if a nonconforming condition is disclosed. Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Is able to heat, form, and dress metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment Determines required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques. Removes rough spots from work piece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper. Responsible for the interpretation of fabrication drawings to the extent necessary to utilize proper welding materials. Responsible for verification of workmanship in relation to size, location and quality. Responsible for verification of materials, consumables and cleanliness of components assigned in their respective work area.QUALIFICATIONS
High School graduate, hold GED certificate, or industry related experience. Must demonstrate the ability by qualification to weld procedures for applicable methods or technique. Must possess the ability to utilize necessary hand tools and practice safety in the work area. Must possess the ability to operate handling and lifting devices.SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
