First and Second Shift OneSource Professional Search is partnering with a manufacturing company in Mandeville, Louisiana, to hire an experienced Fabricator/Welder. In this hands-on position, you will fabricate, weld, and repair components used in water-purification equipment for pharmaceutical and other critical applications. The ideal candidate can read technical drawings and welding symbols, follow welding procedure specifications (WPS), and consistently produce safe, structurally sound welds. This position will begin as a 3-month contract with the potential to convert to full-time employment. What you'll do: Perform MIG, TIG, stick/arc, wire-feed, and oxy-acetylene welding as required. Produce structurally sound welds on castings and fabricated components. Follow applicable welding procedure specifications and quality requirements. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications, welding symbols, shop tickets, heat numbers, and part identifiers. Select the appropriate welding procedure, filler material, tools, and equipment for each assignment. Fabricate, assemble, join, and repair weldable materials. Perform grinding, deburring, measuring, fitting, and related fabrication work. Inspect completed welds to confirm quality and compliance with specifications. Identify and report concerns involving equipment, drawings, materials, or parts. Accurately document completed work and part information. Maintain welding equipment, tools, and a clean, organized work area. Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and environmental health and safety standards.
Who we are looking for:
High school diploma or GED. Welding or fabrication training from a technical school, community college, apprenticeship, or similar program. At least 12 to 18 months of related welding and fabrication experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to produce sound welds in the positions required by the job. Experience following welding procedure specifications. Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols. Knowledge of welding equipment, grinders, measuring instruments, and small power tools. Ability to inspect completed work and identify common welding or equipment issues. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Clear written and verbal communication skills in English. Preferred Experience One to five years of professional welding and fabrication experience. Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience welding castings and fabricated components. Pay and Schedule All new employees will initially train on first shift. Overtime is likely based on current production needs, but the amount and frequency of overtime are not guaranteed. First Shift $23.00 per hour Monday through Friday 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Second Shift $24.00 per hour Monday through Thursday 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Fridays off Physical Requirements and Work Environment Ability to sit or stand for extended periods; lift up to 50 pounds; use both hands and reach with hands and arms; meet close, distance, and peripheral vision needs; and work safely around dust, noise, heat, welding protection, and a non-climate-controlled factory environment, with or without reasonable accommodation. Contract benefits, duration, and conversion potential will be confirmed during the hiring process.
