$23.00-$31.00 per hour, based on experience Position Overview Ardent Staffing Solutions is hiring an experienced Plastic Fabricator for a full-time opportunity in North Chelmsford, MA. This is an excellent role for a skilled, hands-on fabricator with experience welding thermoplastics, reading fabrication drawings, and producing high-quality custom industrial products. In this position, you will fabricate and assemble custom plastic tanks, chemical cabinets, scrubbers, casework, ductwork, duct fittings, and related products. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality craftsmanship, works safely and independently, and is comfortable in a fast-paced fabrication-shop environment. Training will be provided on specialized fittings and ductwork fabrication. Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate, assemble, and weld thermoplastic components and structures according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality requirements.
  • Build custom tanks, chemical cabinets, scrubbers, casework, industrial ductwork, and duct fittings.
  • Perform plastic-welding operations on materials including polypropylene (PP), PVC, CPVC, and other supporting materials.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications independently.
  • Measure, cut, shape, fit, and assemble materials while maintaining required tolerances.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure products meet quality, safety, and customer specifications.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, plastic-welding equipment, and fabrication machinery.
  • Handle, move, and position materials and completed components safely.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with the production team to meet project deadlines and production schedules.
  • Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and fabrication procedures. Qualifications
  • Prior experience in plastic fabrication and thermoplastic welding is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to weld or fabricate materials such as polypropylene, PVC, and CPVC.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, fabrication drawings, and detailed specifications with minimal supervision.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication techniques, material handling, and quality workmanship.
  • Comfortable safely operating hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, safety-conscious, and able to work well as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift, move, and position heavier materials and components safely. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with metal-welding processes.
  • Cabinet-building, carpentry, custom casework, or related fabrication experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, fabrication-shop, construction, or industrial production environment.
  • Familiarity with industrial ventilation systems, ductwork fabrication, or chemical-process equipment.
  • Experience building custom products from drawings and specifications. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform hands-on fabrication work for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials and components as needed.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment throughout the workday.
