A welder is responsible for using welding equipment to fabricate and weld metal assemblies. Welders may need to weld in the flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions. Welder will understand the MIG welding process. Various hand tools may be required to smooth out imperfections. Welders will adhere to all Bandit safety, quality, inventory and production guidelines, standards, policies, and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze blueprints or other documents to plan layout, assembly, and operations. Knowledge of production processes and other techniques to effectively distribute product/equipment. Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using various tools. Able to troubleshoot and fix problems or issues as they arise with assemblies. Examine finished product to ensure parts meet specification and quality.
Operate accessory equipment such as:
handheld power tools, IRD balancer, etc. Able to read weld symbols. Can dial in weld settings and adjust welder accordingly. Knowledge of basic hand tools Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
High school diploma or GED Ability to read and use a tape measure or other shop instruments. Ability to do basic shop math Ability to read blueprints. Basic written and verbal communication skills Complete Bandit's crane and/or forklift safety training
Physical Requirements:
Frequently stand, walk, push, pull, stoop, pinch, grasp, and/or bend Requires employee to work both inside/outside in heat/cold, and/or wet/humid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent injury. Frequently lift 50 pounds Occasionally lift 60 pounds
