Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Welder to join a growing production team in Brooklyn Center, MN. This position is responsible for welding and fabricating metal components to precise specifications using TIG, MIG, stick, and resistance spot welding processes. The ideal candidate has at least two years of welding and fabrication experience, can confidently read blueprints and measurements, and is committed to producing accurate, high-quality work while following established safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate TIG, MIG, stick, and resistance spot welding equipment. Weld stainless steel, including food-grade stainless, aluminum, and carbon steel. Perform welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positions. Lay out, position, align, and secure parts before welding using measuring tools and fixtures. Read and follow blueprints, layout specifications, and engineering drawings. Align, fit, tack-weld, and weld components to create completed units and subassemblies. Clamp, hold, heat-bend, grind, or bolt components to achieve proper configuration. Monitor welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, shrinking, or distortion. Inspect completed welds and workpieces for defects and workmanship. Measure finished components to verify conformance with specifications. Set up and operate hand and power tools commonly used in welding and fabrication. Identify defective materials or equipment concerns and report issues to supervisors. Move and position materials manually or with hoists and cranes as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all established safety procedures and proper equipment operating practices. Perform additional welding and fabrication duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required. Welding certificate preferred. Minimum of 2 years of welding and fabrication experience required. Experience with TIG and MIG welding required. Experience working with stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and operating instructions. Strong math skills, including fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages. Ability to accurately use tape measures and other measuring devices. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to follow instructions and take direction effectively. Effective verbal and basic written communication skills. Must successfully complete required assessments, which may include tape measure reading, math and fractions, welding, blueprint reading, and fabrication. Reliable transportation required. Steel-toe boots required. Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds. Ability to stand, bend, reach, and perform hands-on fabrication work throughout an 8-hour workday.

Working Conditions:

Manufacturing and metal fabrication environment. Regular exposure to welding equipment, machinery, metal materials, sparks, heat, and typical manufacturing noise. Frequent standing, bending, material handling, and hands-on fabrication work. Required use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including steel-toe boots and applicable welding safety equipment. Must consistently follow established welding, equipment, and workplace safety procedures.
