Job Description

Job Title:
MIG Welder Job Description This role focuses on production MIG welding and layout fabrication for custom industrial equipment, with a strong emphasis on reading blueprints, preparing materials, and completing welds on a variety of components. You will work in a growing, climate-controlled fabrication shop where you support the full production process from cutting and fitting materials to finishing welded assemblies. Responsibilities Perform production MIG welding on load bars, sensor brackets, handrails, safety fencing, and related components. Read and interpret production blueprints to understand dimensions, tolerances, and weld requirements. Lay out materials to be welded, ensuring accurate measurements and alignment prior to welding. Use saws to cut materials to specified lengths according to blueprints and job requirements. Work across different fabrication areas as required, supporting the full process from raw material to finished product. Essential Skills Proven MIG welding experience in a production or fabrication environment. At least 1 year of fabrication experience in a manufacturing setting. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and layout drawings accurately. Experience with structural welding and fabrication of components such as bars, brackets, rails, and fencing. Hands-on experience with fabrication tools including saws, drill presses, grinders, and other shop equipment. Competence in sheet metal fabrication and machine operation in a shop environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Technical school degree or equivalent training in welding, fabrication, or a related field. Experience working as an iron worker or in structural steel fabrication. Comfort working with moderate tolerances where extreme precision is not always required. Willingness to support multiple stages of fabrication, from cutting and layout to welding and finishing. The facility has expanded significantly in recent years and supports a diverse workforce that includes software engineers, installers, and fabricators. The shop operates multiple welding bays—primarily using MIG wire-feed welding Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Minneapolis, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
