Asheboro, NC Temporary-to-hire opportunity with career growth and stability Weekly Pay with direct deposit or pay card When you work through The Reserves Network, you are eligible to enroll in dental, vision and medical insurance as well as 401(k), direct deposit and the referral bonus program Job Description An established structural steel manufacturing operation in Asheboro, NC is seeking MIG Welders to join its 1st shift team. In this role, you will perform structural steel welding using
GMAW/MIG
processes while working from blueprints, weld symbols, and testing requirements. You will work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision while maintaining established safety and quality standards. This role offers steady work and a long term employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
Weld structural steel members using
GMAW/MIG
wire-feed processes in 3G and 4G positions Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and applicable testing requirements Follow established welding procedures and safety instructions while maintaining quality standards Collaborate with team members and work independently with minimal supervision Perform additional production and welding duties as assigned by supervision
Qualifications and Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED or related experience as a certified structural steel welder, as determined by management Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish required Ability to pass a 3G and 4G weld test using the GMAW process on 3/8-inch material Ability to understand weld symbols and testing requirements Ability to read and interpret blueprints Good verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively with other employees Positive attitude and openness to continuous improvement Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Ability to step over and work on top of fixtures approximately 28 inches off the floor when necessary Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold and in environments where noise levels may be at or above 90 decibels
