AC Corporation is looking for an experienced Welder to join our Piping Department in Greensboro, NC. Under the direction of a Piping Foreman, the Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welding, brazing, and soldering on piping systems and components. Have ability to stick and TIG weld on carbon steel and stainless steel, understand proper purging techniques, and consistently perform work in accordance with applicable codes, project specifications, and company safety requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform stick and TIG welding on carbon steel and stainless-steel piping and components. Execute copper brazing and soldering as required. Set up and maintain purge systems for stainless steel welding. Read and work from drawings, isometrics, and welding procedures. Operate lifts and material handling equipment safely. Maintain quality workmanship in accordance with ASME, ANSI, and project specifications. Qualifications & Required Skills Proven experience welding carbon steel and stainless-steel piping and components.
Skills:
Must successfully pass a 6-G weld test. Experience with stick and TIG welding processes. Experience with copper brazing and soldering. Ability to properly set up and manage purging for stainless steel. Ability to read and interpret drawings, isometrics, welding procedures, and project specifications. Lift operator certification or ability to obtain certification. Strong safety mindset and adherence to OSHA standards. Follow all jobsite safety requirements, JSAs, and company safety policies. Ability to work effectively as part of a piping crew and communicate professionally with supervisors and coworkers. Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in a safe and orderly condition. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a regular workday. Ability to safely climb ladders and work from lifts or elevated work areas. Use hands and arms to reach for, handle, position, and manipulate tools, welding equipment, piping, and materials. Able to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment as required.
