Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Steel Fabricator to join our production team. In this role, you will learn to transform raw steel into structural components (beams, columns) and miscellaneous items (stairs, handrails). This position is perfect for someone with basic welding knowledge who wants to build a long-term career in steel fabrication through hands-on training and mentorship. Responsibilities Help position, align, and fit-up steel components using clamps, fixtures, and tack welds under supervision. Perform fundamental structural or miscellaneous welding tasks (primarily
MIG / FCAW
) as directed by the shop lead., ensuring adherence to AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and measuring tapes to verify dimensions and ensure precision in fabrication. Operate cranes, pipe threading machines, and other heavy machinery safely to handle large steel components during assembly and installation. Safely operate basic shop machinery, including grinders, band saws, drill presses, and hand tools. Cut, drill, grind, and clean raw steel materials according to shop orders and cut lists.
Qualifications and Skills Experience:
0 to 2 years of welding or fabrication experience (vocational school, high school shop classes, or trade programs are highly valued).
Technical Skills:
Basic understanding of welding concepts and the ability to read a tape measure accurately down to 1/16".
Trainability:
A strong willingness to learn, take direction from senior fabricators, and study blueprint reading.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long shifts, lift up to 50 lbs regularly, and work safely in a heavy industrial shop environment. Knowledge of safety procedures related to construction environments and welding operations. Ability to operate power tools such as grinders, drills, saws, as well as hand tools for precise assembly. Pay:
$23.00 - $27.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
