This is a hands-on welding position requiring previous experience with wire-feed welding, MIG welding, and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) on structural steel. Candidates must complete a hands-on welding test before being considered for placement. Responsibilities Perform

wire-feed welding on structural steel components. Fit, align, tack, and weld steel parts and assemblies. Set up and adjust wire-feed welding equipment according to job specifications. Read and follow blueprints, welding symbols, measurements, and fabrication drawings. Inspect completed welds for penetration, strength, appearance, and quality. Identify welding defects and complete repairs or rework when necessary. Use grinders, clamps, tape measures, and other metal-fabrication tools. Follow production specifications and meet established quality standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all welding procedures and workplace safety requirements. Familiarity with weld preparation, fitting, grinding, and finishing. Ability to recognize common welding defects and quality issues. Dependable attendance and strong attention to detail. Comfortable working around steel, welding equipment, heat, sparks, fumes, and noise. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical duties of the position.
