Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Structural Steel Fabricator/Welder to join our growing manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting shop drawings, cutting ,fitting, and welding high -quality structural steel components (including beams, columns, trusses, and stairways) for major commercial and industrial projects.
Responsibilities Fabrication & Fit-Up:
Lay out, cut ,align, and fit structural steel components using bolting and tack-welding techniques according to detailed blueprints and shop drawings.
Welding:
Perform high-quality production welds (primarily FCAW/MIG or stick) adhering to structural welding codes (such as
AWS D1.1
)
Equipment Operation:
Safely operate shop equipment including torches, grinders saws ,overhead cranes, and forklifts. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the fabrication shop while adhering strictly to safety protocols at all times. Collaborate with team members on assembly processes, ensuring all components are fabricated accurately for seamless installation on construction sites or in manufacturing facilities.

Requirements Proven experience in construction site environments or fabrication shops with a strong understanding of metal materials and structural steel components. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints confidently. Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and shop math for precise fabrication tasks. Familiarity with construction site safety protocols and the use of hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, machining equipment, and assembly techniques. Mechanical knowledge related to metal fabrication processes including sheet metal fabrication and structural steel assembly. Qualifications & Skills Minimum of 1 - 3 years experience in structural steel fabrication of heavy industrial welding preferred. Certifications (preferred but not required):
AWS D1.1
certified welder, forklift operator license or Osha 10/30 safety certification
Pay:
$22.00 - $30.00 per hour
