Trailer Manufacturing | Metal Fabrication | Solar-Powered Trailers This is a hands-on manufacturing position supporting our welders and assisting with the complete assembly of SPOG solar-powered trailers. The primary responsibilities include measuring, cutting, grinding, drilling, fitting, and preparing metal for our welders, along with assisting in the assembly and construction of solar-powered trailers. This is a great position for someone with mechanical ability who wants to develop additional welding, fabrication, and manufacturing skills.
Responsibilities:
Measure and cut steel and aluminum according to specifications. Prepare metal components for welders. Grind, clean, drill, and fit metal components before welding. Use saws, grinders, drills, and other fabrication tools. Assist welders with positioning and fitting components. Prepare brackets, tubing, framing, and other trailer components. Assist with trailer frame and body assembly. Install walls, insulation, flooring, doors, equipment mounts, and interior components. Assist with mounting solar panels and solar equipment. Assist with battery, inverter, HVAC, lighting, and equipment installation under the direction of qualified team members. Perform general mechanical and trailer assembly work. Read tape measures and follow basic drawings and measurements. Maintain an organized manufacturing and fabrication area. Keep materials and components organized for production. Follow all company safety procedures. Assist the manufacturing team wherever needed to keep trailers moving through production.
Qualifications:
Previous construction, fabrication, manufacturing, automotive, trailer, mechanical, or welding experience is preferred. Experience using saws, grinders, drills, and hand/power tools. Ability to accurately read a tape measure. Basic metal fabrication knowledge is preferred. Welding experience is a plus but is not required. Ability to follow instructions and work from basic drawings and measurements. Comfortable working with steel and aluminum. Mechanically inclined and willing to learn. Able to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team. Dependable and able to maintain a consistent work schedule. Strong attention to quality and safety.
